Ben Hurley writes for, and regularly stars on, the show 7 Days, has featured on Comedy Gala and hosted the New Zealand Music Awards. This year, Ben ran the show for Canterbury's most-loved Ball (with only just a few mildly inappropriate jokes thrown in here and there).

We went digital - again! In 2017, the digital silent auction raised over $36,000 - triple what was raised in 2016. Canterbury, you never fail to impress us.

YOUNGS JEWELLERS' 
GOLDEN TICKET

Across the evening, $19,000 was raised from the $20 Youngs Jewellers' Golden Tickets by those wishing to get their hands on all that glitters.

This year's gem was a stunning 18-carat Rose Gold Morganite and Diamond ring
worth over $3500. 

BELLE & BEAU
OF THE BALL

We say it every year. It's never too early to start planning which stylish, elegant and  unique outfit you'll be gliding around the Ballroom in this June. We've got big rewards for this year's Belle & Beau, so it pays to stand out... Just saying.

This year we're putting Sergios Menswear Merivale and The Colombo in charge of hunting down the 2017 Belle & Beau of the Ball (because they definitely know a thing or two when it comes to looking the part).

YOU'RE GOING TO NEED SOME SERIOUS DANCING SHOES

For the first time ever, we're pleased to welcome Hipstamatics to the ballroom stage. You can expect all the classic bangers to come out on the night, played in the truly unique style of this 10-piece funk/soul band, with guitars, drums, saxophones, trombones, trumpet, flawless soul vocals, trumpet, keys and bass.

Following the live auction, the doors to our super classy cocktail lounge will open for all Ball guests.
